We're well into the 2018/2019 season with the much changed set up of the Senior and Junior Football Leagues with a mix of the SPFL, the East Region Junior League of three divisions, the East of Scotland League with three conferences and the Lowland League where one Fife Team now competes.
Of course, these are not the only Leagues that our Fife Referees officiate in; we have our Amateur Leagues, Youth Leagues, Football Development Leagues, Women's Football Leagues and of late, over 35s football. Whatever League you participate in, I wish you well over the season, and please remember, the Association with its Office Bearers and our many experienced Referees are there to assist you throughout your career.
We continue with our success on our Referee appointments to European Matches. David McGeachie, Jordan Stokoe and Dougie Potter all continue to fly the flag for Fife in Europe. Look out for those officials on tv in the Group stages of the European matches and the new UEFA Nations League which is being held over six match days, the 'double-headers' in September, October and November 2018. On the Association front, our Trainer, George MacDonald continues to put us through our paces at our weekly physical training sessions every Tuesday evening. The venue is at the Michael Woods Sports & Leisure Centre in Glenrothes, the warm up starts at 7.15pm sharp. Come along and meet up with your fellow Referees and improve and maintain your fitness level. Please remember to bring appropriate footwear for use on the track and the grass pitch.
On the Association Social scene, Andy Gamble, our Social Convener organised a recent Go-karting challenge. See more on this on the Social Events page.
I wish all of you success throughout the season and look forward to seeing you at training and our Association meetings.
